HTM SoftNose Tram

Working closely with the Netherlands, Simpact carry out a pedestrian impact evaluation with a tram front end. And then help to develop a new 'softer' front end design that reduces impact loads/injury risk to pedestrians or cyclists.

BLiSS - Butted Lightweight Steel Structures

The UK low volume/niche vehicle industry and the bicycle industry have been a particular interest of ours and in this project, we transfer technology from one to the other and evaluated the use of butted (variable wall thickness) tubing for lightweight automotive spaceframes.

Passive safety development applied to trains

Simpact roots are in automotive safety, but when we are asked to develop the crashworthiness of a train, the same fundamentals of passive and active safety can be applied.
