The event started on the Saturday outside our local pub 'The Cape of Good Hope'. Invited were all of our staff, family members, key customers and partners. The boat (Georgina) was the same narrowboat that we hired for last year’s event and at 70ft it can sleep up to 8 people in complete comfort. This year we decided to head west which means that almost immediately taking on the 21 locks at Hatton (known as the ‘stairway to heaven’) and a rise of 45m.

The route involved a return trip to Knowle which meant that we covered over 36km and 48 locks. This included 2 aqueducts and 2 tunnels including the famous Shrewley Tunnel which is 433 yards long! As with most canals, there was a large selection of pubs to stop at.

We would like to thank everyone for making the event so special and to the individuals who fell in and made the event so memorable!
